Opening Psalm (said before prayer)

Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O Lord.
How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.
Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart! — Psalms‬ ‭36:5-10‬ ‬‬

O Lord, we worship you today as we consider your steadfast love and your endless goodness; Surely we are unworthy and undeserving of your love.

Thank you for more rain, for the way you show your abundant goodness.

Father, we pray that you not only send rain to water our thirsty land, but with your words and with an outpouring of your Spirit upon our troubled land.

We pray for nothing less than revival; for a sweeping of the Spirit through our midst.

Start with us Lord, convict us of our sin, mould us, make us, transform us by the mighty power of your Word and by your Spirit;

Search us and know our anxious thoughts, try us and see if there is any evil lurking there, and show us the way everlasting.

Even as we seek your face this morning Lord, we want to pray that your kingdom come, that Your will be done here on earth in our lives, as it is in heaven;

Father, we confess that all to often we doubt your goodness and your care…

Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.

Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O Lord.

How precious is your steadfast love, O God!

Thank you for your Word, your precious Holy Word. Grant Father that we would treasure it, the powerful enduring word that it is.

We long to know you more deeply, to taste and see that you are good; To be thoroughly content in you.

Help us in our imperfections and frailness never to lose sight of you in whatever circumstance you have brought to bear on us;

Father, we pray for our relationships. We bring before you the wedges we have caused; or those others have caused against us.

Give us grace to forgive and wisdom to do whatever we have to to restore those. Help us to be able to remove the logs in our own eyes, but not to neglect our brothers and sisters when we see them stray.

Lord, we pray for the idle amongst us; To admonish and warn them.

We pray for the faint hearted to encourage them, for those who are weak—be it physically, or emotionally or just very tender in the faith; To help them and point them to your word and to the Lord Jesus Christ .

Guard us all in our hearts against worldliness and against false teaching of any sort.

We pray for those away on holiday or traveling; Give them safety, but especially that they would have rested souls; That they would not only have rested bodies and minds, but that they would be strengthened in their inner being to know you better.

For the wealthy in our midst, we ask that they would not trust in their riches but that they be rich in good deeds and share generously with those in need.

For those who are struggling financially, Lord we ask that they look to you and know that your promises are sure, that your care is an everlasting care.

Lord, we pray very much for our leaders especially our council, those who’ve you’ve raised up to shepherd and lead us: Erik, Anton, Adrian, Govert, Megan, Sean, JP, Karl and Ebert. We pray particularly for unity and oneness of mind as they call a new pastor to lead us. We pray for each of the men and their families that are being considered too Lord, that they would continue to lean on you, trust You in all this, and that wherever you choose to use them, that they would be eager to serve for your kingdoms sake and the glory of your name.

We pray for those teaching us even now Lord. And so we pray for all our Bible teachers as they explain Your Word to us. Help us to diligently pray for all who remain committed to this noble task.

Lastly we pray for the lost, for those who have still not turned to you, that you would remove the veil which is preventing them from seeing Jesus for who He is. Have mercy on them Father, even as you have had mercy on us, and graciously brought us out of the kingdom of darkness, into the kingdom of light.

We pray all these things for Your glory, and in the precious name of Jesus.

Amen!
